The Basics...
Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center (CSAC) is a virtual rescue. We do not own a brick and mortar building. We are a network of fosters, adopters, and rescue partners primarily located in north-eastern Maryland and south-central Pennsylvania. CSAC rescues dogs from local shelters, accepts dogs from owners who need to surrender their pets and works with organizations that rescue dogs from puppy mills in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
All of our rescues receive medical care from our veterinary rescue partners. All of our dogs are examined, brought up to date on vaccinations and tested for parasites i.e. blood work and fecal tests. If needed, our dogs are spay/neutered, given dental cleanings and provided with other surgical procedures i.e. tumor removals. Once medically cleared, our dogs are advertised for adoption.
Adoption candidates must complete an adoption application. Approved applicants must pass a criminal background check, real estate check, veterinary check and a home visit. CSAC accepts applications from anywhere someone is willing to drive from and pick up a dog. As an all volunteer organization, we may be limited by the number of volunteers in any geographical location. It may not be possible to complete our application process, i.e. a home visit, depending on your geographic location, but we will try out best.
