Description:
ADOPTED!!
Rosie was surrendered when the person who bought them from a breeder to help the dog couldn’t care for them. She came in with her mate, Wiggles. They had been living 100% outside in the cold with no care. As you can see from the pictures, she was terribly matted. And - thankfully for the reader - you cannot scratch and sniff the picture - because she smelled terrible. Rosie is a 6 year old female that is getting the care she needs - cleaning up, spaying, vaccinations and any testing she might need. We will make sure she does not participate in the making of any more puppies. Her gorgeous red color and "surfer hair" will be awesome once she’s free of the smell and the mats and we can see her sweet freckled face.
Because she was a breeder dog, and then virtually ignored for months - she’s shy and slow to warm up to you - but you can tell she likes a kind hand to pet her and speak kindly to her. She reacts positively to the kindness.
She rode well on the transport and sat quietly at the vets. She is supposedly good with kids - but we cannot recommend it because we don’t know if she has been abused. We’ve also been told she and her buddy like to chase cats. She will need work on her leash manners and housebreaking skills - but you can tell she will react to kindness. If you are a patient loving dog momma or dog poppa, Rosie could be your new best friend. You will be rewarded as you help her learn what "the good life" is all about.
If you are interesting in giving Rosie a loving home, please let us hear from you!

The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization and your donations are entirely tax deductible.
