FUREVER HOME NEEDED!!Kandi was found wandering the streets in Camden County, New Jersey. Sadly, she may have been on the streets for awhile. She was matted and filthy, spray painted, and she was on the thin side. However, as is often the case with dogs who have no reason to be so, she is an absolute sweetheart. She is also a calm dog, affectionate and friendly with everyone, and she loves to run and play with other dogs. We also think her maternal instincts were activated at some point, because she is like a mother hen to the younger furballs in her foster pack.
Our vet estimates her to be about 10 years old.
Kandi was seen by our vets and was diagnosed as Lyme positive. We believe it was caught it in time and when her treatment is complete, she will be fine. Lymes comes from flea and tick infestation and with her living on the streets it’s not in the least bit surprising. She has also been diagnosed with Cushings Disease, which is treated with regular medication.
Kandi is waiting so much for her furever home! She loves her foster family, but it’s just not the same as being part of a permanent pack where she can feel as if she has finally come home.

The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization and your donations are entirely tax deductible.
