Description:
Nugget is a reddish male cocker spaniel mix who came to us from
Harlem, New York. We were told that he is 10 years old, but he appears
younger. He was a stray who was adopted and returned after a month
because the owners claimed he had too many medical issues. When he
came to us, he was dirty, covered in fleas. As a result, he has some
skin issues and an ear infection that we are working to clear up.
Nugget is easily startled and will snap if he does not know who is
touching him, but becomes very friendly and loving once he knows you.
He loves affection and gets along well with other dogs and cats, but
because he does startle easily, he cannot go to a home with children.
He is very smart and housetrained, and loves having the free run of
his foster home.
Nugget is up to date on his vaccinations and has been neutered. He is
ready for a calm and loving home that will provide the structure and
affection he so desperately wants.
If you are interesting in giving Nugget a permanent home, please let us hear from you!

Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out this application.
The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization and your donations are entirely tax deductible.
