“Georgie Boy” is a sweet, lovable, and friendly little guy. He came to us from a shelter in New Jersey. You may be wondering why all the way from New Jersey? Well, CSAC is a virtual organization and is blessed to have volunteers spanning across Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia and North Carolina. Because of our relationships with other shelters and Humane Societies in these five states, we were contacted and asked to take these babes into our rescuing arms. We happily run to their aid to save their lives. Luckily for George and CSAC, our paths have crossed and one of our dedicated volunteers in New Jersey brought him to us in Maryland.
Unfortunately, George has a contagious skin condition that we weren’t aware of until after we had him in our care. As of 5/20/09, George began his six week quarantine and is coming along extremely well and we are expecting a full recovery by the end of June. He was whinny and miserable during the transport probably because the constant scratching from the skin condition that was driving him crazy….Unimaginable how someone could let a dog suffer so….but it happens all too often. But through it all, George has not given up on people and we are told by the wonderful medical staff who agreed to take him in and treat him, he is a real wiggle butt, craves attention, and is very lovable.
If you aren’t in a position to adopt George, maybe you would consider donating to his treatment…which has been expensive. Being a rescue we dedicate ourselves to each and every dog we bring into our group, we sometimes need to spend “extra” on some of our needier dogs. As a result, this could possibly limit the amount of dogs we bring into CSAC in the future. Raising funds to cover the treatment of needier dogs, allows us to continue rescuing more dogs.
Please consider either donating to his care or even better adding George to your family. Adult dogs are like your favorite shoes, a bit broken in but so wonderful and comfortable to have around. George will reward you a hundred times over and fill your heart with love, put a sparkle in your eyes, and be your playmate/companion forever if given the chance.

Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out this application.
The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization and your donations are entirely tax deductible.
