Description:
Hi! My name is Buster (used to be Pepper).....maybe because I’m hot stuff or maybe because I’m mostly black. Anyway, I’ve had an interesting time of it recently. My owners surrendered me to an animal shelter in Baltimore City ... WHY? I’m not sure. The reason doesn’t really matter because the bottom line for me is that all I want is a home and a family to love. My previous family fed me pretty darned good….but that caused a bit of a problem because I’m now I’m a little overweight and wouldn’t ya know it, the CSAC volunteers put me on a diet and starting taking me for long walks to exercise! WHEW!!! It feels like boot camp. But my kennel buddy tells me “It’s for our own good….[you see she wants to drop a few pounds herself] so she takes me for long walks in the woods where we can smell the pine trees and hear the wind whistling in the woods.” At first I kept trying to turn back around and head back to the kennel, but “Oh No….She said, “lets make it to the top of the hill, then we’ll go back.” Even though I’m a bit overweight, I love being outside in the fresh air and I walk GREAT on the leash. I heard her say I’m one of the best walkers in town….I didn’t pull on the leash, try to run away, or chase any critters!
The girls at the kennel say I’m a real easy-going sweetheart…..I love to have my ears scratched, petted, and just hang. They picked me up, took take toys away from me, and handled my ears and paws and none of that bothered me….No sirree! I’m just an easy going guy. If you’re looking for a loyal, easy going, and loving companion, then I’m your guy!

The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization and your donations are entirely tax deductible.
