Description:

At 14 years old, Nickey found himself in the shelter because his human father either died or became ill and could no longer take care of him. It’s a shame, because Nickey is just the sweetest thing! You can tell he was loved before because he is so gentle and all he wants to do is to curl up with you on your lap and be petted. Despite his age, Nickey is in great health – he has no medical problems except for a fatty cyst that requires no treatment.

Nickey absolutely loves treats and his dinner! He eats his entire dinner and will even help you cook in the kitchen! He loves those smells and is a very willing sous chef! Nickey will also let you know when he has to go outside by giving a small wimper. And, his foster mom has yet to hear him bark.

Basically, Nickey is wonderful and loves love and life! He would be an excellent companion for an older person who stays at home and wants a great dog for companionship and love. If you would like to make Nickey a part of your family, please let us know!

Before writing off an older dog, please read all the things only a mature dog has to offer in Virtues of Older Dogs.

Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out this application.

The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization and your donations are entirely tax deductible.
